CHUCK'S JOURNEY

Metepenagiag

Tuesday, September 17

An avid fisherman, Chuck heads to Metepenagiag, a Mi’kmaq community in New Brunswick, to try striped bass fishing for the first time. He meets Stephen Paul, one of the best fishermen and guides in the region.

The two men hop on Stephen’s boat and head down the southwest side of the Miramichi River towards the best fishing spot: the Red Bank Bridge area. Striped bass are very hungry this time of year and should be a fairly easy catch. Right away, some fish start to bite, and Chuck sees just how determined the striped bass are to stay alive. It’s a successful day of fishing.

On the shore, Chuck starts a wood fire and gets ready to cook up the day’s catch. It doesn’t get any fresher—the fish was swimming not even an hour ago!
